A Glance At All The New Snapchat & Instagram Features
Snapchat and Instagram both continue to steam roll their way through the social media space.
Instagram saw double digit growth back in February 2016, allowing them to claim that one third of North American’s use the app at least once a month. Still not as widely adapted as Instagram at only 18% of North Americans, Snapchat still has a lot to brag about, boasting 100 million daily active users pushing through 9,000 snaps a second!
Both apps saw recent updates introducing a wealth of new features. Let’s take a peak.
First up, Insta is introducing longer video clips up to 60 seconds. Giving users the ability to get a little more creative with their visual storytelling. The update starting rolling out March 29 and should be widely available over the next few months. We’re excited to see how our favorite Instagram celebs are going use the new feature to share their perspectives. Here’s a great example courtesy of @teenvouge
But that’s not all! iOS users will see the return of the multi-clip editing feature in the latest update (version 7.19), which will allow iPhone lovers to pull multiple video clips from their camera roll to craft unique video experiences.
Chat 2.0 marks an enormous update for Snapchat users. We’re seeing improvements to user stories and the introduction of stickers, new filters, video/audio calls, video/audio notes, multi-image sharing through chat or calls and finally the ability to quick toggle between chats and calls. Woah.
These stickers are cute as heck. With over 200 to pick from we think you’ll find one for almost any situation. This handy little gif courtesy of the Snapchat team shows you how to throw them into your next convo!
The audio and video note features are pretty epic as well. So awesome in fact that we think WhatsApp and Google Hangouts have something to worry about. Check out the quick how to gif below 🙂
A smart and albeit obvious progression for Snapchat are its new audio/video call features. Clean and simple they allow you to share multiple images in one shot and you can easily toggle between your simultaneous chats!
We think the Snapchat team really hit a home run with their latest tweaks. These features might be enough to convert new users away from their existing messenger of choice.
That’s all she wrote! What new Instagram or Snapchat feature has you most excited?
