Bring out your inner troll with “Roast Me” (r/roastme)
The recently popular subreddit r/roastme is definitely for people with thick shells.
Contributors post pictures of themselves along with r/roastme written on a paper to verify their willingness to participate. The world then has the opportunity to join in on roasting OP, or original poster. This is a job that the wonderful people of the internet take seriously and perform with diligence. The comments range from light zingers to soul crushing tear downs.
This subreddit while not for the meek has had me in stitches several times.
r/roastme should be admired if not for the bravery of the poor souls that post pictures, or for the funny comments, then for its growth and sudden popularity. It was created at the end of April and slowly gained momentum until now, where its begun to trend. Hitting over 40K subscribers in a blink, its become the fastest growing non-default subreddit of the day between Aug 15th – 17th.
Now that you know what r/roastme is and why it is noteworthy let’s look at some gems.
This had me laughing so hard that I began to choke, while in the library in the quiet section. Many angry looks were given.
Well they’re not wrong.

I started off thinking her nose isn’t that big, but now I’m not totally convinced it’s not plastic.
This guy said that his self esteem is impenetrable. This was one of the milder comments. I wonder how his self esteem is doing now.
I hope this isn’t true, the world cannot handle two.
